Alistair Field (55)

On August 3, 2017, Alistair Field was named Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Sims Metal, a scrap steel buying and processing business with facilities in the US, UK and Australasia.  

He serves on the Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability Committees, as well as the Nomination/Governance and Risk Committees. Alistair joined Sims Metal Management as Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand Metals on October 1, 2015. 

He has worked in the mining and manufacturing industries for over 25 years. He is a seasoned executive with a track record of successfully leading companies through business advancement and transformation. He has held a variety of top leadership positions, most notably as Director of Asciano Limited’s Patrick Terminals & Logistics Division, and earlier as Chief Operating Officer for Rio Tinto Alcan’s Bauxite and Alumina Division.
