Ross McEwan (62)

In December 2019, Ross McEwan was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of National Australia Bank Limited.

Mr. McEwan has over 30 years of expertise in finance, insurance, and investing. Mr McEwan is a prominent global financial services executive with extensive expertise in foreign markets and deep understanding of the Australian banking landscape. Mr. McEwan also has substantial expertise guiding organisations through major transition and recovery. 

Mr McEwan previously served as Group CEO of Royal Bank of Scotland from 2013 to 2019 and as CEO of UK Retail from 2012 to 2013. The Australia banking leader has held executive positions at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, First NZ Capital Securities, and the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia / AXA New Zealand.

His leadership skills have enabled him a successful and highly recognised career that continues to this day, dating back to his operations in the UK where he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2020 for outstanding services to the financial sector.
